This balcony is lined with green and hasn't a single root: artificial hedge panels on the wall and artificial turf on the floor. It's the version that works in a rental or where there's no water supply, because it weighs nothing, doesn't drip onto the neighbour and needs no watering. What saves it from reading as plastic are the four baskets hung in front, which do carry living plants: a little real green in the foreground is enough for the backdrop to stop being looked at.

A sheet of synthetic foliage on a flexible mesh, cut with scissors and joined panel to panel. When buying, two figures separate a hedge that lasts from one that doesn't: declared UV protection and leaf density, visible in the weight per square metre. Mix two or three different leaf models across the same wall: one panel repeated identically shows its pattern the moment you look for two seconds.

Lay it loose rather than glued, because you have to be able to lift it to clear the drain: that's what decides whether in two years it's still workable or has to be ripped out. A stiff-bristled brush worked against the pile every few months lifts the flattened fibre and pulls out the dust that settles between the strands.
See similar on Amazon(paid link)Black nylon cable ties and S-hooks to fix the panels to a railing, a trellis or your own frame. It's the part that makes the installation reversible: in a rental you don't drill the façade, you stand a slatted frame against it and tie the panels to that. Use black UV-protected ties, because ordinary white ones go brittle in sun and snap after one summer.
See similar on Amazon(paid link)A woven sofa with a seat pad and loose back cushions. On a balcony, measure the depth before the width: a standard outdoor sofa is deeper than it looks and, on a metre-and-a-half balcony, leaves a gap that won't let the door open fully. Loose back cushions are an advantage here, because they come inside when it rains without moving the furniture.
See similar on Amazon(paid link)A matt black metal dome shade to hang from the balcony ceiling. Being opaque above and open below, it throws all its light at the floor and doesn't light the foliage panel, which is exactly what you want when the backdrop is full of green. For outdoor use check the IP rating even under cover, because driving rain still reaches the ceiling rose.
