There's only one colour in this room, but it appears four times and never at the same strength: pale sage in the cushions, a blue-green at the foot of the bed, forest green on the panels behind, and a muted broken green in the rug. Everything else — walls, bedspread, bench, timber — stays in warm neutrals. The rug wasn't the last thing to arrive but the source of the whole palette, and that's what lets four greens live together without having to match.

A pendant of two linen rings on a brass frame, with a diffuser across the bottom. It's the shade type that works best over a bed because it never shows the bulb from any angle lying down. Check the diffuser is included: without it the double ring still glares from below and you'll have to add one separately.

Natural cane dries out in a heavily heated room and can crack: an occasional damp cloth on the back keeps it flexible.
See similar on Amazon(paid link)A line-quilted bedspread in an undyed tone, sized to hang over both sides. Over a duvet, the bedspread is what gives the flat taut surface that makes a bed look made; a duvet alone, however good, always keeps its creases. Size it counting the height of the mattress and the base, not just the bed's width.
See similar on Amazon(paid link)A bedside lamp with a coloured glass base and a conical fabric shade. Glass weighs enough not to be knocked over reaching for it in the dark, which is the real problem with light bases. Choose the version with a switch on the body or a touch base: an inline cord switch means groping behind the nightstand every night.
See similar on Amazon(paid link)A round or oval wooden tray with a low rim, to group the candle and small objects on the bench. It's the piece that stops a soft surface looking untidy: on bouclé or upholstery, any loose object sinks and tilts, while the tray gives a flat base. With a lit candle, choose a raised rim rather than a flat board.
