How to get this look at home

Black shades work in a warm bedroom because they aim light at the floor and the nightstand rather than the wall. If you want ambient light instead, the shade has to be pale.
For a painting with that much colour to lead, everything else has to sit in one tone. Here the only thing answering it is the throw, and that's chosen from the same range.
